On January 3, the list of places for vigorous promotion of the culture and tourism industry in Hunan in 2023 was released, and Huayuan County of Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture was included on the list.
Huayuan County makes efforts to promote the high-quality development of characteristic cultural and tourism industries, optimize the layout of the cultural and tourism industry, and accelerate the construction of projects such as the improvement of Shibadong 5A-level tourist attraction as well as the cultural and tourism development of Biancheng Town.
Based on the needs of tourists, it continues to create new formats and scenarios for cultural and tourism integration, and introduce new content and experiences so as to promote cultural and tourism consumption.
In 2023, Shibadong Village was selected among national boutique rural tourism routes and the first batch of 10 Hunan boutique Red tourism routes. The Gumiao River Grand Canyon Scenic Area was designated as a national 4A-level tourist attraction. The Biancheng Chadong Tourist and Leisure Block was recognized as a provincial-level tourist and leisure block, and the night market of Biancheng Scenic Area was selected among the first batch of “new scenarios” of Hunan cultural and tourism consumption. Shuanglong Town in Huayuan County was included in the third batch of key rural tourism towns in Hunan Province, and Shuangping Village in Huayuan was rated as a key rural tourism village in Hunan Province.
From January to November 2023, the Shibadong Scenic Area, Biancheng Chadong Scenic Area, and Gumiao River Grand Canyon Scenic Area received 811,758 million, 1.444969 million, and 158,134 tourists respectively, an increase of 250.03%, 192.15%, and 356.13% year on year.
